September 2025

September has arrived and the end of the season approaches.

All our Three County matches have now been completed and the last of our Friendly matches are due for completion mid month.

The semi finals of all our internal club competitions have now been completed and we are all looking forward to a great Finals Weekend on 6th and 7th September, where 14 players will compete to win the various singles and doubles trophies available. Everyone is welcome to come and watch the finals.

There is also still time to come along to the club and try your hand at bowling where you will be made very welcome and shown the basics of the game by our members.

Our Thursday roll ups are at 2pm and a very good way of learning and developing your game. It is also an excellent opportunity to meet other club members, as well as learning rink set up, etiquette and the rules of the game. Please just remember to bring flat, soft soled footwear to wear on the green.

To all those thinking of taking up Bowls or those who already bowl and are considering playing at Headley; everyone is welcome to come and play. We are always happy to see new members, either playing or social. Just contact any of the committee members shown on this website and we can arrange for you to come down if you want to have a go.

The major refurbishment taking place to the Pavilion continues apace. The good weather has seen the external building work expand the pavilion significantly and the roof now has now been fitted with solar panels. None of this work has impacted on the players performances and our temporary facilities are coping very well while the work is under way. Our temporary entrance is at the far end of the green, just follow the signposts. The green is usually open daily from 2pm, (to allow the green to dry out in the morning ready for bowling).

All of this work has also not stopped the Social side of the club continuing and a Candlelight Bowls evening held on Friday 8th August was a great success.
